Hong Kong Airlines may be about to begin flying four-times per week to San Francisco starting March 25 next year.
According to industry website airlineroute.net, the carrier has filed a new route to the West Coast city, which will be operated by its Airbus A350 aircraft. Hong Kong Airlines took delivery of its first A350 earlier this month, announcing at the time its intention to fly non-stop to San Francisco as well as London and New York as more of the aircraft join its fleet.
The potential San Francisco service is apparently planned to go daily from August 18 onwards. HX060 looks set to depart Hong Kong just after midday at 1220, arriving in San Francisco at 1015 that morning. The return HX061 leg will leave San Francisco at 1200, landing back in Hong Kong at 1725 the following morning.
Hong Kong Airlines has North America firmly in its sights and the carrier has been embarking on a plan to expand its connectivity to the continent since November last year.
Back in June, the airline made its North America debut with the launch of its non-stop Vancouver service. The airline’s US entry is set to follow this December with flights to Los Angeles, meanwhile last week it began codesharing with budget airline Westjet on flights between Vancouver and Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto.
